Final Fantasy VII: Square Enix registers Ever Crisis and The First Soldier

Very exciting! Square Enix has secured the trademarks “Ever Crisis” and “The First Soldier” in Japan, as well as the logo of the Shinra Electric Power Company. The trademarks and logo were registered on December 17th and December 22nd, 2020, as reported by Gematsu. Today they have been made public. All three trademarks are obviously closely related to Final Fantasy VII.

At Ever crisis we immediately think of the similar sounding Before Crisis and Crisis Core. Before Crisis: Final Fantasy VII was a mobile game released in 2004. Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII was released in 2007 for Sony PSP. Both games are part of the Final Fantasy VII compilation. At The First Soldier let us think of Sephiroth. The first members of the elite SOLDIER troop emerged from experiments that also created Sephiroth. And what the Shinra Electric Power Company, we hardly need to explain to you.

What the trademarks mean is of course completely open. Of course, it can be assumed that these are products of whatever kind to Final Fantasy VII. That Square Enix have a big project like that Final Fantasy VII Remake with accompanying publications, that wouldn’t be a surprise. Whether it’s full games, new releases, maybe DLCs, merchandise or mobile games? Unknown. Maybe nothing at all. You never know that with trademarks.

What would you wish for?

It was only recently that we learned that the development of the next episode of Final Fantasy VII Remake is progressing well. And that the “new world” of Final Fantasy VII has only just started with the first part. And what Final Fantasy VII Remake has to do with the Japanese holiday Seijin no Hi, you can find out here.
