The final of the World Cup darts will take place during the next edition on Sunday, January 3. Normally, the final battle is played in London on New Years Day. Organizer PDC hopes that an audience can be present at Alexandra Palace.
The World Cup will start on December 15th and will then run until December 23rd. The tournament will then resume on December 27 and the decision will be made on January 3.
“While 2020 has been an uncertain and unprecedented year in many ways, it is fantastic for everyone involved in our sport to see the World Cup on the horizon,” said PDC Chairman Barry Hearn.
“Monday’s announcement means that we can intensify our discussions with the relevant authorities to hopefully host a tournament with an audience for the first time since March, which would be a huge boost for so many people who consider this event the highlight of the year is. “
On Monday it was announced that from December 2 in England in some regions up to 4000 spectators will be admitted to sporting events.
