Switching from an Android smartphone to an iPhone is now quite easy. Basically all you need is the “Move to iOS” app from the Google Play Store to guide you through the moving process. If you also wanted to transfer Whatsapp, the most popular messenger service, along with the data, then it was a lot more complex – as you can read in our moving guide. You had to do real digital acrobatics until you had accidentally transferred all chats from Android WhatsApp to iOS WhatsApp.
Mark Zuckerberg, CEO of Meta, Whatsapp’s parent company, has now announced in a Facebook post that the current version of Whatsapp will also allow the move from Android to iOS. There are a few minimum requirements to be observed: The Android smartphone should run at least Android 5. The new iPhone should be updated to iOS 15.5.
