2020 was a unique year for Formula 1 in many respects. The corona pandemic caused a delayed start, a redesigned calendar, constant changes and even infected drivers. More than enough drama for the third season of the documentary series Formula 1: Drive to Survive on Netflix. Watch the first trailer here.
The corona pandemic brought the 2020 Formula 1 season to a halt before it even started. Normally, the first race of the season was scheduled for March 15 with the Australian Grand Prix, but that race could not take place due to the corona virus.
After that, it was exciting for the drivers and teams to wait in uncertainty about what could still take place in the strange year 2020. In the end, the season started on July 5 with the Grand Prix of Austria, although it logically happened without audience.
From March 19th
In total, the FIA managed to put together a calendar of 17 races (instead of the planned 22), but that was more than enough for the necessary drama on and around the track. How it went behind the scenes, you can see from March 19 in the third season of Formula 1: Drive To Survive on Netflix. Expect exciting races, internal rivalries, unexpected performances and of course Lewis Hamilton’s seventh world title.
