At the head of Nio Norway, Marius Hayler has just presented the program to introduce the Chinese electric car brand Nio in the country.
Nio maintains its roadmap unveiled in summer 2020 for its introduction in Europe. There was talk of the second half of 2021. The main dates are becoming clearer. The Norwegian team is being formed and the first key collaborators have already been chosen.
The city of Oslo will then host Nio Norway’s first service and delivery center. The sales network will begin with the installation of a large space dedicated to the brand on the main street of the city, in the heart of the shopping and cultural center, the famous Karl Johans Gate. The manufacturer specifies that this establishment will be the first Maison Nio opened outside of China.
4 new locations planned for 2022
The Norwegian sales network will be supplemented by 4 new establishments inaugurated in 2022. They will be located in Bergen, Stavanger, Trondheim and Kristansand.
At the same time, the after-sales service will also be rolled out nationwide. Nio intends to offer a high-end service experience in the region, with a mobile team, vehicle support at home or at the workplace.
The delivery of new copies will follow the same logic. Each can be delivered to the place designated by its purchaser.
ES8 and ET7
The first model of Nio electric cars, adapted for Europe, will be the large 6-7 seater SUV ES8. Its length of 4.98 m exceeds that of the Aiways U5 by 30 centimeters, without exceeding the 5.05 m of the Tesla Model X.
The following year, in 2022, Nio will introduce its ET7 in Norway. It is about a sedan likely to compete with the Model S. Already by its announced autonomy of 1000 kilometers (according to the standard NEDC), obtained with the battery of higher capacity (150 kWh). It also exceeds its rival by 13 cm: 5.10 against 4.97 m long.
While waiting for the first deliveries for which it will probably be necessary to rush, the manufacturer already hopes to set in motion its community of supporters on a European scale. A dedicated application will be accessible at 3e trimester.
Customers who use Nio electric cars will also be invited to join an advisory committee. In this way, they will be able to transmit their suggestions and ideas concerning vehicles and derivatives, the quality of service, and their perception of the charging solutions available.
Precisely on the subject of recharging, we now know that the famous battery exchange stations, so popular in China, will also be introduced in Norway and elsewhere in Europe. By the end of 2022, they would be sufficient in number to reach the 5 main cities of the territory and cover the motorway network.
As a reminder, Nio has just launched its second generation of its Power Swap stations. Including 10 places to receive as many packs, they would be able to exchange up to 312 batteries of electric cars per day.
Nio also intends to install fast chargers in the vast territory.
Derivative product line
Nio hopes to make a real celebration of his installation outside his country. This is why the 2 Norwegian artists Anette Moi and Sandra Blikås were contacted. They will be associated with a collection of Nio products developed for the occasion and also offered in China.
