Former president Sepp Blatter of the FIFA world football association has been admitted to a hospital. The health of the 84-year-old Swiss is serious, but his life is not in danger. This is reported by the Swiss daily ‘Blick’, which is based on a brief statement by a daughter of Blatter. Nothing is known about the nature of his complaints.
“My father is in hospital. He gets better every day. But he needs time and rest,” said Corinne Blatter Andenmatten.
It is not the first time that Blatter has struggled with health problems. In 2015 he had to be treated in intensive care because of a disorder in his immune system.
Blatter led FIFA from 1998 to 2015. He is serving a six-year suspension from all football-related activities for ethical violations. In December, FIFA filed a new complaint against him for a suspicion of criminal mismanagement at the very expensive FIFA Museum, which opened in 2016.
