After all: he is in regular video contact with team boss Günther Steiner and his race engineer. Since the Netflix Formula 1 series, the South Tyrolean has been known for his way of speaking plain language. Mick about Steiner: “He’s very nice, but also very direct. That is something that is very positive. I believe that the most direct route is always the easiest and that we are all on the same page and up to date. This is simply the best way to work. “

The presentation date of Schumacher’s first Formula 1 racer has not yet been set, but the objective for the season has been set. Specifically, the German wishes “that I see a great improvement from the beginning of the year to the end of the year.”

Schumacher reveals favorite routes

He is particularly looking forward to the Japanese GP. “Suzuka is one of those tracks that I don’t know yet, but that I’ve already driven in the simulator and that is a lot of fun,” he says. “But of course we are also very excited about the track in Spa.” Mick: “It’s a nice story: It was 30 years ago when my father drove there for the first time in Formula 1.” Michael Schumacher celebrated his Formula 1 premiere at the 1991 Belgian GP.

But his father’s greatest Formula 1 moment is different for the junior. “When you look back on all the races, my father’s first world title with Ferrari is definitely a goosebump moment for me when I look at it.” So that means: Suzuka 2000 is not only THE highlight race for Schumacher senior, but also for his son.
Mick also reveals when he himself was at a Formula 1 race for the first time. His father was already driving for Mercedes. Schumacher: “I was in Budapest in 2010, it was the first time and I was close and also in the meetings.”
