Jafar Arias will play for VVV-Venlo next season. The 24-year-old Dutch attacker, with roots in Curaçao, comes from FC Emmen, with whom he played in the premier division for the past two seasons. Arias signs a one-year contract with the Limburg premier divisionist.
Arias made his debut in professional football in the 2014-2015 season at FC Groningen. He then played for FC Dordrecht for three years. The center forward made four goals in fifty premier league appearances at Emmen. He now came to seven international matches for the national football team of Curaçao.
“VVV is a beautiful club with an authentic and cozy stadium, where supporters fanatically support the club,” Arias experienced. “The fact that a natural grass mat will now be laid only adds to the choice for the club. Venlo aims for a recognizable playing style, combined with passion and struggle to secure another season in the premier league. “
Arias will also meet German Christian Kum in Venlo next season. The 34-year-old has played in the yellow-black of the Venlo club for the past two seasons and extended his contract by one year. Kum previously played in the Netherlands for ADO Den Haag, sc Heerenveen, FC Utrecht and Roda JC.
“A rock in the surf”, says technical manager Stan Valckx the German. “We know what we can do for Christian. A good defender, who can be deployed in several places in the defense. He also knows better than anyone what Premier League football requires from a football player.”
