Borussia Mönchengladbach was not surprised by Eintracht Frankfurt when the Bundesliga was restarted. The team of coach Marco Rose won the away match 3-1 without problems. Borussia rose to third place, with 3 points less than league-leader Bayern Munich, who will join FC Union Berlin on Sunday.
Striker Bas Dost played his hundredth game in the Bundesliga at the home club. He was active in 85 league matches for VfL Wolfsburg. At Eintracht Frankfurt, Dost is now at 15. Due to persistent physical problems, he missed quite a few games this season.
Dost was preferred to André Silva for the duel with Gladbach from trainer Adi Hütter. The Portuguese will probably also get a chance in the starting team in the coming duels. Silva was allowed to substitute for Djibril Sow after half-time and scored the goal of the club from Frankfurt in the 81st minute.
Eintracht started the home game dramatically. Thanks to hits from Alassane Pléa, after just 40 seconds, and Marcus Thuram, the visitors already had a comfortable lead after 7 minutes. Rami Bensebaini lifted the score to 0-3 in the 73rd minute.
Dost played the entire game, but was unable to make the difference. Eintracht is in thirteenth place, 5 points above the relegation line.
