Four new Xiaomi smartphones launched for the German market

The first of the four newly launched smartphones is the Redmi Note 9 Pro. If this name seems familiar to you: Xiaomi already presented a smartphone under this name in China in early March. However, this is available as Redmi Note 9S in Germany. The Redmi Note 9 Pro now presented is a different, slightly improved smartphone.

Redmi Note 9 Pro

With the Redmi Note 9 Pro, Xiaomi presents a real middle class star. The smartphone is almost identical in construction to the Redmi Note 9S, which has only been available for a few weeks, but has been improved at the key points.

Both smartphones rely on the identical 6.67-inch full HD display with a hole for the front camera in the middle of the status bar. Otherwise, the two mobile phones do not differ externally. Instead of Aurora Blue on the 9S, the Redmi Note 9 Pro is available in Tropical Green.

Finally NFC

Nothing has changed in the processor. The Redmi Note 9 Pro also relies on the new Snapdragon 720G, which did a little better than the 730G in the test. The biggest criticism in our test of the Redmi Note 9S was the lack of support from NFC. Here Xiaomi has now improved and given the Redmi Note 9 Pro an NFC module for Google Pay and Co. Many of our readers had wished for this. An infrared blaster and a headphone jack are also still available.

A little better camera

The four built-in cameras on the back are a 64 megapixel sensor (f / 1.8 aperture), an ultra wide-angle lens (8 megapixels, f / 2.2 aperture), a macro camera (5 megapixels) and a depth sensor (2 megapixels). Compared to the Redmi Note 9S, only the main camera has been improved from a 48 megapixel to a 64 megapixel sensor. The 16 megapixel front camera remained untouched.

Faster charging

The 5.020 mAh battery of the Redmi Note 9 Pro already convinced us in the test of the Redmi Note 9S with a long battery life. Now the charging time has been improved. Instead of 18 watts, the Redmi Note 9 Pro charges with 30 watts. You should be able to charge the smartphone’s battery 50 percent in 30 minutes. A suitable power supply is included.

Conclusion: Optimized in the right places

With the Redmi Note 9 Pro, Xiaomi has improved the Redmi Note 9S at the crucial points and introduced a really good smartphone at an affordable price. If the slightly better camera and NFC are worth the 30-40 euro surcharge for the Note 9S, you can strike here without hesitation. The Redmi Note 9S convinced us in the test.

The Redmi Note 9 Pro will be available from June 1st at a price of 269 euros for the version with 6 GB RAM and 64 GB storage. A memory doubling to 128 GB costs 30 euros more.

Redmi Note 9

The Redmi Note 9 is slightly smaller than the Pro model and comes with a weaker Helio G85 processor from MediaTek. The full HD display measures 6.53 inches and has a hole for the front camera in the upper left corner. Like the Pro model, the Redmi Note 9 offers NFC support, a headphone jack and an infrared blaster.

Stripped down camera

With the four built-in cameras, the Redmi Note 9 is inferior to the larger models. This smartphone comes with a 48-megapixel sensor (f / 1.8 aperture), an ultra-wide-angle lens (8 megapixels, f / 2.2 aperture), a macro camera (2 megapixels) and a depth sensor (2 megapixels) for use. The front camera has a resolution of 13 megapixels.

Conclusion: cheap enough?

The Redmi Note 9 should be on the shelves of retailers for 199 euros from June 1. It is only marginally cheaper than the Redmi Note 9S, but offers a slightly poorer camera, significantly less power and memory and a fingerprint sensor on the back instead of in the power button. The Redmi Note 9 supports NFC for Google Pay and Co. The normal Redmi Note 9 is the weakest device in the series. If you want more power or a larger battery, you should probably choose the Note 9S or Note 9 Pro. Especially since the 3 GB of RAM could be a bit too little when used for a long time.

Concrete prices and memory variants: The version of the Redmi Note 9 with 3 GB RAM and 64 GB memory costs 199 euros. The version with 4 GB RAM and 128 GB flash memory costs 229 euros.

Xiaomi Mi Note 10 Lite

The Xiaomi Mi Note 10 Lite is a cheaper version of the Mi Note 10. This was introduced last year. Except for the camera, you don’t have to compromise on the Lite version of the Mi Note 10. The large battery with a capacity of 5,260 mAh and 30 watts fast-chage was also adopted.

Same processor

The Xiaomi Mi Note 10 Lite uses the same Snapdragon 730G processor as the more expensive model. The working memory is also identical with 6 GB. However, the memory in the basic version is only 64 GB. However, a version with 128 GB should also be available. Both smartphones offer NFC for Google Pay and Co, an infrared blaster and a headphone jack.

Curved display

The Mi Note 10 Lite is in no way inferior to the more expensive model in terms of display. Both rely on a 6.47-inch AMOLED screen with a fingerprint sensor underneath. The display is curved towards the sides, which simplifies gesture operation. Downside of the coin: ugly reflections can occur.

Less megapixels

The Lite model on the camera has slimmed down significantly. Instead of the new 108 megapixel sensor and a high-resolution wide-angle camera, Xiaomi relies on standard food. The main camera offers a resolution of 64 megapixels with an f / 1.73 aperture. The other three cameras are an ultra wide-angle lens (8 megapixels, f / 2.2 aperture), a macro camera (5 megapixels) and a depth sensor (2 megapixels). The selfie camera offers a resolution of 16 megapixels.

Conclusion: Mi Note 10 for photo muffle

The Mi Note 10 Lite offers almost the same technical data on paper as the significantly more expensive Mi Note 10. Only the camera was saved. So if you place less value on these, you can save a lot here.

The Mi Note 10 Lite is now available in the colors Glacier White, Midnight Black and Nebula Purple. The version with 64 GB storage costs 369 euros. Doubling the memory to 128 GB costs 40 euros more. Memory expansion via microSD card is not supported.

Mi 10 lite: 5G becomes affordable

There was a real highlight at the end of the performance. The Mi 10 Lite 5G comes as the name suggests with a Snapdragon 765 processor including 5G support.

AMOLED display

With the Mi 10 Lite 5G, Xiaomi uses a somewhat more compact 6.57-inch AMOLED display without curved edges. With a resolution of 1,080 x 2,400 pixels and a fairly high brightness of 800 nits, it makes a very good impression on paper.

The Mi 10 lite 5G is available in three colors

Quad camera

The Mi 10 Lite also comes with four cameras on the back. This is a 48 megapixel sensor with f / 1.79 aperture, an 8 megapixel periscope telephoto lens with OIS, an 8 megapixel ultra wide-angle camera with f / 2.2 aperture and 120 degree viewing angle and a 2 megapixel macro lens.

Other equipment

The Mi 10 lite 5G comes with NFC and dual SIM functionality. It offers a 4,160 mAh battery. This supports Fast Charge with up to 20 watts. Our data sheet gives you a complete overview of all technical data:
