Free films and series for PS Plus users

Sony launches the “PS Plus Video Pass” service. Behind it is an extension of PS Plus. PS Plus is the service for the PS4 and PS5 that must be subscribed to in order to play online. PS Plus costs 60 euros a year.

PS Plus Video Pass does not cost anything extra and is integrated into PS Plus. The test started in Poland and is designed for 12 months. It is conceivable that the test will gradually be rolled out for other countries.

It starts with 15 films and 6 series from Sony Pictures:

  • American hustle
  • Arrival
  • Bad Boys (1995)
  • Baby driver
  • Blade Runner 2049
  • Bloodshot
  • Charlie’s Angels (2019)
  • The Equalizer 2
  • Inferno (2016)
  • Jumanji: The Next Level
  • Sausage party
  • This is the end
  • Underworld: Blood Wars
  • Venom (2018)
  • Zombieland 2: Double Tap
  • Community (seasons 1-6)
  • Deadly Class (Seasons 1)
  • Future Man (seasons 1-3)
  • Lost Girl (Seasons 1-5)
  • SuperMansion (seasons 1-3)
  • SWAT (seasons 1-2)

The offer is to be expanded quarterly. A price increase of PS Plus should not take place.

With the PS Plus Video Pass, Sony seems to want to generate added value for PS Plus users. With the Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, Microsoft has an extremely strong competing product. This costs 13 euros a month, but includes online games, access to over 100 games for Xbox and PC and streaming of Xbox games on Android smartphones. There are many blockbusters among the titles. In addition, selected games are available to subscribers from the day they appear, which would cost 70 euros or more if you bought them.
