Easy WiFi radar

The Easy WiFi Radar WiFi tool scans the area around your notebook and lists all available WiFi access on a “radar screen”. Access points that are secured are shown as red dots, open access points are marked green by Easy WiFi Radar.

Practical: Easy WiFi Radar opens the browser as soon as it detects a new open access. All you have to do is enter your login details and start surfing.

Easy WiFi Radar is a German-language freeware for Windows XP, Vista and Windows 7.

NetStumbler finds all active WLANs and displays them together with the SSID (Service Set Identifier). In addition, NetStumbler mentions the encryption method and the radio channel for all detected WLANs.

The English-language NetStumbler is free for private use. Vistumbler is an alternative.

Boingo finds HotSpots around the globe and connects you almost fully automatically with the corresponding accesses, if necessary you only have to enter your password. You can save the profile for the discovered access in Boingo.

Boingo uses its own database for this, in which US and European hotspots are entered. This also includes hotspots for more than 1,700 locations in Germany.

Boingo is an English-language freeware for Windows XP and Vista, Windows 8.1 and Windows 10.

Telekom online manager

Years ago, the “HotSpot Manager” was incorporated into Telekom’s online manager. It lists all available access points in your area. You can also use the Online Manager (Hotspot Manager) to find out which access points are available at the location before you start your journey. The tool uses its integrated database for this.
