French national coach Didier Deschamps, following Nabil Fekir, has also seen his replacement Houssem Aouar drop out of the national team. Fekir (Real Betis) reported injured at Deschamps on Friday, who then called Aouar. The midfielder of Olympique Lyon, however, fell out on Sunday in the league game won against Saint-Étienne (2-1).
The 22-year-old Aouar also had to log out of Deschamps on Monday, who now decided not to call for a replacement. France will play an exhibition match against Finland in the Stade de France on Wednesday. The world champion will take on Portugal in the Nations League on Saturday and against Sweden three days later.
Aouar made his debut in the French national team last month. He had also been called up for the national team in August, but he had to cancel because he had become infected with the corona virus.
Deschamps hopes his medical staff will be able to get Kylian Mbappé, Presnel Kimpembe (both from Paris Saint-Germain) and Benjamin Pavard (Bayern Munich) ready in time for the upcoming international matches. All three have physical problems.
