The new season of the popular series The Crown can be seen on Netflix starting today. However, friends of Prince Charles are not exactly happy with the new season. According to them, the Netflix series would “troll on a Hollywood budget,” writes Mail Online.
The Crown is about the British royal family, from this season Diana Spencer can also be seen in the series. That fact alone already caused quite a stir. The friends of Queen Elizabeth’s eldest son have now unleashed a “blistering attack on the show,” the website writes.

“Not the truth”
“This is drama and entertainment for commercial purposes, disregarding the actual people involved who are being exploited in this,” a source told the website. “In this case it is about things that happened 25 or 30 years ago in very difficult times.” According to the same source, the makers of The Crown did not take into account the feelings of those involved. “That is neither right nor fair, especially when so many things that are depicted do not represent the truth.”
According to the source, Prince William, the son of Charles and Diana, is also not happy with how his parents are portrayed in the series. “He feels that both his parents are being exploited and portrayed in an unrealistic and simplistic way to make money.”
In the series, Prince Charles’s marriage to the late Princess Diana – and their problems – is widely discussed. Diana’s struggle with bulimia and Charles’ affair with Camilla Parker Bowles, for example, are important topics. Prince Charles married Camilla in 2005, they are still husband and wife.
The new season is said to have caused “great concern” within the royal family.
