Friends releases official cookbook and yes, Rachel’s trifle is in it

The final episode of the sitcom Friends may have been broadcast more than 16 years ago, the series remains super popular. That is why there is now also a cookbook with the dishes from the series. Just think of Monica’s lasagna, but also the “moist maker“And Rachel’s iconic minced meat, peas and onions trifle can be found in the cookbook.

Although a real chef participates in it Friends (Monica) it is mainly the worse baking (Rachel’s trifle) that everyone has remembered. But now brings Friends an official cookbook with the best (and worst) recipes from the series.

Friends: The Official Cookbook

Friends: The Official Cookbook

The cookbook of Friends will feature over 70 recipes, ranging from Monica’s culinary delights to, um, slightly less culinary baking from Rachel. But Phoebe’s heavenly oatmeal cookies will also be found in the cookbook.

The book will be out on September 22, but you can pre-order it now via Amazon for £ 20.84 (or £ 23.24). So you can already ensure that in the fall you will be able to prepare a delicious dinner for the friends in your bubble.

Of the moist maker to the trifle

So there will be more than 70 recipes in the cookbook, so that all the iconic dishes in the series will have a place. Just think of the stolen sandwiches with moist maker from Ross or Monica’s Thanksgiving dinner.

But there is also room for the slightly less tasty meals. For example, Rachel’s trifle can be found in the book. And you will be able to figure out for yourself whether a trifle with long fingers, jam, custard, raspberries, minced meat with peas and onions, bananas and whipped cream really tastes good. Joey already liked it, so who knows.

Different levels

And who is a complete layperson in the kitchen does not have to worry. Because in the cookbook, different levels will be used. As the announcement itself describes, “Whether you’re a trained chef like Monica Geller, just started a catering business like Phoebe Buffay or just a food enthusiast are like Joey Tribbiani, Friends: The Official Cookbook has a variety of recipes for chefs of all levels. ”

The book will also feature a lot of photos from the series, so it really is the perfect gift for any one Friends-fan, or just a gift to yourself of course.

Friends Reunion

In a world without the corona virus, we could have just about enjoyed the long-awaited reunion with the six friends in the series. This reunion was in response to the series’ 25th anniversary in late 2019.

But due to the coronavirus outbreak, the recordings of that reunion had to be postponed indefinitely. About the duration of that postponement, Bob Greenblatt of WarnerMedia Entertainment recently gave an update to Variety. “We first thought that shows would be postponed for a month or a maximum of two months, but now it looks like it will be much longer than that. We hope that the special can take place by the end of the summer. ”

No Skype call

Several other series, such as Tiger King and Too Hot To Handle, already held reunion episodes via videocall, but Greenblatt is not happy for that. “We think there is an added value to a large, raw live audience to witness the reunion of these six friends and we didn’t just want to have a video conversation with, you know, six booths and people filming themselves from their own kitchens or bedroom. ”

That live audience that will be present at the show will consist of different groups of friends of six people each. They could win a spot by participating in a competition. The winners will be part of the audience at the recordings, so will be friends, Chandler (Matthew Perry), Joey (Matt LeBlanc), Monica (Courteney Cox), Ross (David Schwimmer), Rachel (Jennifer Aniston) and Phoebe (Lisa Kudrow), meet in person.

Friends can still be found on Netflix with us and is also on our list of the 50 best series on Netflix. The full list can be found here.
