You have set up guest access for your visitors. You can easily pass on the required access data for the guest network using a QR code. That’s how it’s done.
Pass on WiFi access data to guests via QR code
If you want to provide other people with the guest access to your Fritzbox, then it is best to use the option of creating a QR code with the required data and printing it out. Your guests then only have to scan the code with a QR code app on their smartphone and they are then automatically connected to the Fritzbox and your guest WiFi.
The Fritzbox summarizes the access data for your guest WiFi and generates a QR code that your visitors can scan using their smartphones.
First activate the guest access of the Fritzbox: Click on “WLAN -› Radio network ”, check the“ 2.4 GHz frequency band active ”and“ 5 GHz frequency band active ”, if you have not already done so, and click Click on “Apply” below. If the WLAN of the box was not switched on before, a window with the settings, such as the password, will appear. Click on “Close”.
The menu item “Guest Access” is now available on the left. It takes you to a window in which you put a tick in front of “Guest access active”. Leave it at the default setting “private wireless guest access” and scroll down. Give the guest access a name, set the encryption to “WPA2 + WPA3” and select a password. Then click on “Apply” at the bottom right. The previously grayed out button “Show QR code” is now also available.
A corresponding app is required to read the QR code, for example the free QR Droid.
After a click, the Fritzbox opens a window with the WLAN name, password and QR code. Click on “Print Page” to get a preview of the printout. With a click on “Print” you send the page to your printer. If you now scan the QR code with an app such as QR Droid, the smartphone will immediately switch to your guest WiFi.
