The consumer electronics retailers Media Markt and Saturn are running one of the popular ones from April 6th to 14th, 2022

“19% VAT free” promotions

on selected Samsung products from the Galaxy range. Among the offers you will find smartphones, notebooks, Bluetooth headphones and smartwatches.

At least, in theory, you get the VAT for free; this will of course still be calculated, as stipulated by the legislature. However, the actual discount (a price reduction of 15.966 percent) that you get with the promotion is still noticeable and invites you to go Galaxy bargain hunting.

So note:

During the campaign, Media Markt and Saturn waive the customer a discount in the amount of the included VAT portion that would apply to the excellent price. The VAT portion corresponds to an actual discount of 15.966 percent of the respective purchase price and is also granted on 7% VAT items. So it’s not a 19 percent discount. The discount is also only granted on items from the range that are in stock or that are immediately available online. Please note the legal text of Media Markt and Saturn:
