According to them, the performance of the RTX 4070 Ti is already above the level of an RTX 3090 Ti, which is currently the flagship of the RTX 3000 series. With its 7,680 CUDA cores, 12 GB of GDDR6X memory and a 192-bit wide memory interface, the RTX 4070 Ti could already surpass the level of the current Ampere top model. For this, however, players must also plan for a power supply unit, which can allow the card up to 400 watts.
RTX 4070 faster than RTX 3090?
Even the smaller RTX 4070 with 7,168 CUDA cores, 10 GB of GDDR6X memory and a 160-bit memory interface could keep up with an RTX 3090. Depending on the load, however, up to 300 watts are required for this. The limited memory interface could ultimately prove to be the bottleneck of an RTX 4070.
Not all models at the same time
Seven different models of the RTX 4000 generation have already been leaked. These range from the smallest RTX 4060 to the top-of-the-range RTX 4090 Ti. Nvidia is expected to only launch the three models RTX 4090, RTX 4080 and RTX 4070 in the fourth quarter of 2022. The other models could then only follow in early 2023. The reason for this delay could be found in Nvidia’s full warehouses. There are currently still many cards of the RTX 3000 generation that are still looking for buyers.
