If the computer is sufficiently well ventilated, actively cooled RAM bars are actually not necessary. Even RGB lighting doesn’t make the working memory faster. But this doesn’t stop PC enthusiasts from modifying their PC with colorful and sometimes questionable mods. Manufacturer GEIL now has the first actively cooled DDR5 bars on offer. The EVO V series is offered with clock frequencies between 4,800 and 6,600 MHz, the kits range up to a capacity of 64 GB.
Two micro fans in the bar
In addition to an interestingly designed heat spreader, GEIL has installed two small fans. There are also RGB lighting effects. The modules are also available in the colors titanium gray and glacier white. According to the manufacturer, the “GeIL EVO V DDR5 RGB Hardcore Gaming Memory” offers incomparable performance and stability. Despite additional components, the RAM modules should be compatible with most CPU coolers. The fans of the RAM modules are housed in the two corners of the bars and should ensure up to 45 percent better cooling of the RAM chips.
Up to 6,600 MHz possible
By supporting the current Intel XMP 3.0 profile, the modules should also be suitable for automatic overclocking. In addition, buyers should also be able to change the settings themselves. GEIL specifies the maximum clock rate that can be achieved by overclocking as 6,600 MHz. The RGB lighting supports the standards Asus Aura Sync, Asrock Polychrome, Gigabyte RGB Fusion 2.0 and MSI Mystic Light. The GeIL EVO V DDR5 RGB hardcore gaming modules will be available from many PC dealers from July. The manufacturer is not yet naming prices.
