The Dutch handball player Tess Wester will leave the Danish club Odense after this season. The 27-year-old goalkeeper of Orange is looking for a new employer. “After three years in Odense, it is time for a new adventure,” says Wester. “I hope we can make it another unforgettable season.”
Wester previously kept in the German league for years. In 2018 she switched from Bietigheim to Odense. The goalkeeper is the teammate of fellow international Lois Abbingh and Nycke Groot at the Danish club, who will retire at the end of this season. The internationals Dione Housheer, Bo van Wetering and Kelly Vollebregt are coming to Odense in the summer. They have all already signed a contract for next season with the Danish champion candidate.
Wester won the world title with the Orange squad in Japan at the end of 2019. Last month’s European Championship in Denmark was disappointing for the Dutch handball players. After silver and bronze at previous European Championships, the Orange wanted to go for gold, but the world champion did not get further than sixth place.
