A little bit has gone further this year, but: “If the government does something that we have been demanding for a long time, then it is only doing half measures.”
From their point of view, Heinisch-Hosek cited as an example the legal right to special care, the release of pregnant women – this should apply to everyone, or the reduction in VAT on hygiene products, because these should be completely eliminated.
The SPÖ women will start the new year on January 18 with the Barbara Prammer Symposium in the form of a video conference. On the coming Women’s Day, one will be “loud on the street” and also be active on social media, announced the federal woman boss. What is required are “intelligent employment models” that enable compatibility, as well as specific programs relating to digitization, “so that women can survive the next year financially well”.
Change at the top of the SPÖ women
There will be a change at the top of the SPÖ women next year. Heinisch-Hosek, who has held this position since 2009, will no longer be taking up the position, her successor is still open. The women’s conference is expected to take place in autumn, as before the federal party conference. With the party chairman Pamela Rendi-Wagner, she was “very satisfied”, especially since the corona pandemic shows that “crisis management could also be different”.
