Hidden Options in Your iPhone: How to Use Them

An iPhone has many options. But do you know them all? You may be surprised at what your iPhone can do.

Reach the bottom buttons on your iPhone without using your two hands

The smartphones of today are no longer the small mobile phones of yesteryear. No, anyone who buys a smartphone today usually gets hold of a robust model. That does not make it any easier to access all options on your screen in one smooth movement. Fortunately, there is an option to make it all run more smoothly.

The option ‘accessibility (reachability) ‘allows you to lower the screen so you can use the apps or options you want much faster.

How do you do this?

  • Open settings
  • Go to accessibility
  • Choose touch (touch)
  • Enable the reachability option

Quick access to basic functions

You can easily access the control panel (Home Center) by simply swiping down from the top right corner. From the control panel you can switch on your flashlight, activate your WiFi or bluetooth or use your calculator.

To exit Control Center, swipe up from the bottom of the screen or tap the screen.

If you have a more recent iPhone device, you can also bring up the menu by clicking on the back of the device (see below).

Easily find information on your iPhone

A smartphone today has a lot of memory. This allows you to endlessly store things on your device. That does not make it any easier to find everything. Fortunately, the iPhone has a universal search option. Thanks to that option, you can easily search for saved data in apps, your internet history and other files.

You can use that option by swiping down from the center of your home screen.

How to easily switch from one app to another

You can quickly switch apps or close them by swiping up from the bottom of the screen and holding until you feel a slight vibration. Swipe right to browse apps. Tap an app to open it or swipe up to close it.

Did you know that you can also switch between apps by simply swiping right or left across the bottom of the screen?

You can go back to the last screen in an app, such as the previous web page, by swiping to the right from the edge of the screen. The best way to try this out is to open a website, go to another site, and then swipe right on the screen. You are then back where you started. Swiping left from the right side of your phone will move you forward again.

Tapping on the back of the new devices

If you have an iPhone with the iOS14 driver, you can activate various functions by simply tapping the back of your smartphone. You can, among other things, take a screenshot or open the control panel.

How do you do this?
