the release date of “Hogwarts Legacy” has been postponed for the second time. The prequel game to the novel series about the sorcerer’s apprentice Harry Potter will be released on February 10, 2023 for PC, Playstation 4, Playstation 5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S. The release date for the Nintendo Switch version is set to be announced soon. According to Avalanche Studios, the development team “needs a little more time to offer the best possible gaming experience”.

Second release postponement in a row

Hogwarts Legacy was originally supposed to be released later this year. Avalanche Studios had already postponed the game in January last year. At that time, too, the delay was explained by the fact that more time was needed for development.

Action RPG set in the 1800s

Hogwarts Legacy is an open-world action-adventure RPG set in the late 1800s. The story takes place 100 years before Voldemort’s evil plans. The main character of the game is a student at the Wizarding University of Hogwarts. The protagonist has an ancient secret that threatens to “tear apart the wizarding world”. In addition to the well-known magic school, players in “Hogwarts Legacy” also visit other iconic places known from the novels and films such as the village of Hogsmeade or the Forbidden Forest. There could also be a reunion with Albus Dumbledore or Horace Slughorn.

Avalanche Studios is responsible for the development of the game. The team was acquired by Warner Bros. in 2017. Previously, the studio made a name for itself with action titles such as Just Cause, Just Cause 2, Just Cause 3, and Rage 2.
