Honor unveils Magic4 Ultimate Edition

With the Magic4 Ultimate Edition, Honor has introduced the newest member of its Magic4 smartphone family.

Honor this week introduced the newest member of its Magic4 smartphone family – the Honor Magic4 Ultimate Edition. The device is based on the Magic4 Pro, but offers better camera equipment.

1/1.12 inch sensor for the main camera

In this model, the main camera sensor grows from 1/1.56 inch to 1./1.12 inch. The resolution of 50 megapixels remains the same. Honor combines the larger pixels, which result from the larger sensor area, with an improved lens. The maximum aperture is f/1.6. The lens should also provide more sharpness in the center and at the edges. According to Honor, the Magic4 Ultimate Edition’s camera should be able to keep up with 1-inch sensors. In the DXOMark test, the smartphone scored 146 points, surpassing the previous leader, the Huawei P50 Pro, by two points.

Spectrum camera on board

The ultra-wide-angle camera has also been improved. It now offers a 1/2-inch sensor and an f/2.2 lens. It captures 126 degrees and has a resolution of 64 megapixels. Also on board is a spectrum camera with 50 megapixels. The telephoto camera with 64 megapixels was taken over from the Magic4 Pro. The front camera consists of a 12-megapixel selfie lens and a 3D depth sensor for face recognition.

Top equipment all along the line

The rest of the equipment of the Honor Magic4 Pro Ultimate Edition is identical to the Magic4 Pro. The Snapdragon 8 Gen 1, twelve gigabytes of RAM and 512 gigabytes of storage work in the housing. Android 12 is combined with the Magic UI 6.0 user interface. The 6.81-inch OLED screen has a resolution of 2,848 x 1,920 pixels and offers a refresh rate of up to 120 Hz. The battery has a capacity of 4,600 mAh and can be charged quickly with up to 100 watts. Wireless charging is supported with up to 50 watts.

Only available in China for now

The Honor Magic4 Pro Ultimate Edition will be available in black and white in China this year. The price is the equivalent of 1,140 euros. It is still unclear when and if the smartphone will also come to Germany.
