Hugh Grant considers herself “too old and ugly” to make romantic comedies

Bad news for fans of Hugh Grant who were hoping to see the actor at work again in a romantic comedy soon. The 60-year-old Brit has announced that he no longer wants to play in it. The reason? “I just got too old and ugly.”

Hugh Grant conquered the world and our hearts in the 1990s and 2000s, during which time he appeared in a whole series of romantic comedies. His characters always looked alike: charming, beautiful men, who did not always have an easy time finding love.

Hugh Grant’s big break came in 1994. In that year he starred as Charles in Four Weddings and a Funeral. After that, the actor was completely launched in the genre. He played in rom-com classics such as Notting Hill, Love Actually and the Bridget Jonesmovies.

But now it looks like it will stick with those movies. During an interview with entertainment website Deadline, Grant said that he doesn’t like it anymore. “It is no longer an option for me to play in a romantic comedy. I’ve just gotten too old and ugly. It is no longer there ”, it sounded.

The Undoing

Hugh Grant spoke to Deadline about his role in The Undoing. The actor plays one of the main characters from the HBO series, Jonathan Fraser. Jonathan’s wife, Grace (Nicole Kidman), is a successful therapist. Until her life is completely changed.

The actor was also seen in a special episode of Black Mirror. It summed up the strange year 2020 in 70 minutes. Death to 2020 is a mockumentary, featuring, in addition to Hugh Grant, Samuel L. Jackson and Lisa Kudrow (Phoebe from Friends).
