The 4.97 meter long Toyota Highlander is more than just a filler that is supposed to close the space between the compact RAV4 and the luxury SUV Land Cruiser – because it primarily appeals to the group of buyers who want a lot of space and comfort and only rarely is off the road. That’s why the Japanese do without the high-torque diesel from the Land Cruiser and rely entirely on hybrid.
Anyone who finds the combination of space, comfort and hybrid appealing should have at least 54,950 euros left for the Highlander according to the price list. Toyota relies on a full hybrid drive with all-wheel drive for the Highlander. Together with two electric motors (one each on the front and rear axles), the 2.5-liter four-cylinder petrol engine generates a system output of 248 hp, and a continuously variable CVT transmission takes care of the power transmission.
The SUV, which weighs around two tons, accelerates to 100 km/h in 8.3 seconds and runs at a maximum of 180 km/h. With a suitably restrained driving style, consumption of 6.6 liters per 100 kilometers (WLTP) should be possible.

To compensate for the lack of freedom of choice when it comes to the drive, Toyota offers the Highlander in at least three different trim levels called “Business Edition”, “Executive” and “Luxury”.

The maximum discount can be increased to up to 8570 euros with optional extras (including a pearl effect paint finish costing 300 euros and the panoramic sunroof for 1490 euros).
