Icelandic Daði Freyr releases Eurovision number ’10 years’ next month

Daði Freyr was the big favorite for the Eurovision Song Contest in 2020. But the corona crisis was not able to continue that edition and the Icelander was therefore not able to participate with his song Think About Things. He will take another chance in 2021. And he does that with the number 10 years, which will be released on March 13.

The Eurovision Song Contest was canceled last year due to the corona crisis. The artists who would then participate were allowed to sign up again, but there was one important condition. Anyone who wanted to participate in the Eurovision Song Contest in Rotterdam in 2021 was not allowed to do so with the same song as in 2020.

Think About Things

Daði Freyr wasn’t even officially Iceland’s entry yet, and yet it was his number Think About Things already a monster hit. That was to be expected. It has a very danceable melody and also a hilarious video clip.

Think About Things immediately became the top favorite for the Eurovision Song Contest. But Daði Freyr never had the chance to compete for that prestigious Eurovision title. Because of the corona crisis, the festival was not allowed to be organized.

10 years

Daði Freyr announced fairly quickly that he would also be the Icelandic entry for the Eurovision Song Contest in 2021. But he needed a new number for that. And that will appear next month, on March 13.

He did not waste too many words on the announcement of that news. “10 years – release on March 13th, ”Daði Freyr wrote on Twitter. Underneath he tagged the Eurovision Song Contest. Anyone who wants to can 10 years already save via the official website of Daði Freyr.

Jaja Ding Dong

Since it became known that the Eurovision Song Contest could not take place in 2020, Daði Freyr has almost never disappeared from the media. That’s how he made his own version of Jaja Ding Dong, a song from the Eurovision movie Eurovision Song Contest: The Story of Fire Saga.

Every Moment Is Christmas With You

Daði Freyr was also active around the holidays. The Icelander then solved a Christmas number, Every Moment Is Christmas With You. And as usual, this also includes a hilarious video clip.
