Preceded by the Peugeot e-208 and the Tesla Model 3, the Renault ZOE fell to third place in electric car registrations in February in France. Summary using data from the monthly Avere France barometer.
Queen of electric car sales since its launch in 2013, the ZOE has had a difficult start to the year. After dropping to second place in January, ahead of the Peugeot e-208, the city car with the diamond falls to third place on the podium in February.
With 1,074 units sold, the Renault ZOE is unable to reach the levels observed at the end of last year. Result: with 1,484 registrations, the Peugeot e-208 again ranks first in registrations while the Tesla Model 3, which has accelerated its deliveries since its significant price drop, occupies second place with a total of 1,166 registrations.
On the side of electric microcitadines, the Twingo ZE takes a good lead. With 810 units sold, the small electric Renault finished fourth. It shows a comfortable lead over the electric Fiat 500, which has sold 645 copies. Then come the Kia e-Niro and Peugeot e-2008 with respectively 567 and 446 units sold.
A difficult start to the year
In total, 14,897 electric cars were sold in France over the first two months of the year. This is 27% less than a year ago. This situation can be explained by the exponential registrations observed at the end of last year, but also and above all by the gloominess of the automobile market. Overall, it is down 21% compared to last year.
In the general classification, the electric Peugeot 208 took first place over these first two months of the year. With 2,830 units sold, the city car of the lion has a good lead over the Renault ZOE, registered at 2,087 units over the same period. With 1,315 registrations, the Kia e-Niro completes the podium, closely followed by the Tesla Model 3, which has sold 1,239 copies.
