Italy is now trying to speed up the vaccination campaign. The country expects 80 million vaccine doses by the end of summer, reported the Italian Minister of Health Roberto Speranza. In the future, not only family doctors, but also 63,300 Italian dentists will help with the vaccination campaign, according to an agreement between the Ministry of Health and the medical association. Retired medical professionals and freelance doctors are also to be used in the vaccination campaign.
In the future, vaccinations should also be carried out at the workplace. The business association Confindustria starts looking for companies that could serve as vaccination centers. This means that the vaccination of workers and their families should also begin. Currently, Italians are immunized for over 75 years. 332 fatalities were reported on Wednesday, and there were 22,409 new infections after 19,749 on Tuesday.
