Install basic software in one go

Do you want to install a basic set of tools on a PC as quickly as possible? Then go to the Ninite website. There are around a hundred programs to choose from.

The tools are sorted by categories such as browser “Browser”, “Media”, “Utilities” and others. Put a check mark in front of the programs you want and click on “Get your Ninite” at the bottom of the website. This is how a small Ninite help file ends up on your PC. Start this to install all selected programs on your PC. The Ninite help file will download the latest version of the selected programs and install them with their default settings. The usual queries, such as the storage location of the program or the request to restart Windows, are served by the Ninite help file.

In this way, your software package lands on your computer in a short time without any further action. There is one catch, however. The tools are installed with an English-language user interface. If you prefer a German one, you have to change this in every installed program via the “Settings” after the installation. With many programs this is a considerable effort. Nevertheless, an installation via Ninite can be useful.

Via the Ninite website, you can get up to a hundred programs on your PC in one go. However, the tools are initially installed with English-language user guidance. After installing the tools, you have to convert them individually to a German language

At this point it is worth taking a look beyond the (Windows) box, namely Linux. Similar to Android, this operating system alternative to Windows has its own app store. This means that the Linux system offers a large number of all interesting programs for safe download on a controlled server. The special thing about Linux is that any number of programs can be installed with a single command. If you want to install Firefox, Thunderbird, VLC and Gimp in one go, you can do this with this one command line:

sudo apt install firefox thunderbird vlc gimp

.

Tip:

With the Portable Apps Platform you always have the most important applications with you on the USB stick in a clear and stylish user guide.
