ITS World Congress 2021: Mobility of the future to try out

The IAA 2021, which was held in Munich for the first time, is a thing of the past. Another trade fair on German soil is looking into the future from October 11th to 15th: the ITS World Congress 2021 (I.intelligent Transport S.ysteme) in Hamburg. After being held in Tokyo, Melbourne or Singapore, the meeting is now celebrating its German premiere. Under the motto “Experience Future Mobility Now“will be in the Exhibition halls, in the Congress Center Hamburg (CCH) and up selected streets all around intelligent mobility, networked traffic and smart logistics turn. ITS World Congress as a 2G event

Around 12,000 participants from all over the world meet on five days in the Hanseatic city for the trade fair, at which the car is only used as a a Part of urban mobility solutions plays a role – just like bicycles, autonomous buses and subways, e-scooters, car sharing and ride-hailing, the new diversity in mobilizing metropolises. The ITS World Congress is one because of the corona pandemic 2G event, i.e. only accessible to vaccinated or recovered people (young people under 18 years of age also with a negative corona test).

Basically, at the ITS Congress organized by the organizer ERTICO and co-organized by the Federal Ministry of Transport six focal points addressed: 1. automated mobility, i.e. the transition from driver to autopilot in an automobile, bus or subway; 2. Mobility “on demand”, so the combination of many mobility services (such as taxi, rental bike, e-scooter, public transport) on a single service; 3. intelligent infrastructure, that is, the optimization of traffic using artificial intelligence for faster, smarter and cleaner traffic; 4. New mobility offers through new technologies, for example the use of unmanned drones; 5. better and more sustainable transport of goods, for example from the port to the end customer; 6. Solutions for cities and their residents, that is mobility that is ecological, sustainable and energy efficient.
