Justin Timberlake has come under fire since Framing Britney Spears broadcast in the United States. That documentary tries to tell the story of Britney Spears from a different angle. And Justin Timberlake has not been discussed too positively – to put it mildly.
Britney Spears’ life has not always been easy. And because of its status, the whole world has also witnessed the bad moments. For example, many people remember how the singer shaved off her own hair and raged against the paparazzi.
Framing Britney Spears
In the new documentary Framing Britney Spears Samantha Stark looks at the life of the pop singer from a different angle. And it focuses, among other things, on the way in which the media has dealt with Britney Spears. Naturally, her relationship with Justin Timberlake is also part of that story. And the end of that relationship even more.
After the two stars broke up, Justin Timberlake spoke to the media several times. During those conversations, he shamelessly told about Britney Spears’ sex life. On top of that was in the video of Cry Me A River, to see a song about an unfaithful girlfriend, an actress who looked very much like Spears.
After Framing Britney Spears broadcast in the United States, Justin Timberlake came under fire. Everywhere on social media there was a loud voice that it was urgent that he apologized. And he has now done that too.
“I’m terribly sorry that certain things I have done have caused problems,” reads on Instagram. “Moments when I have spoken out of turn or when I have not spoken out about things when I should have. I understand that I have failed at these and other times, and that I have benefited from a system that favors misogyny and racism. ”
Britney Spears and Janet Jackson
“I would like to apologize personally to Britney Spears and Janet Jackson because I have so much respect for them and because they mean so much to me. I have disappointed you. ”
The moment Justin Timberlake is probably referring to when he apologizes to Janet Jackson? Their joint appearance at the Super Bowl halftime show in 2004. Timberlake had ripped off part of her outfit, exposing her chest (very). Janet Jackson’s career has taken a serious dent as a result. Timberlake’s not.
The singer also elaborates on that problem. “The industry is wrong”, it sounds. “It prepares men – especially white men – for success. That’s just how it works. As a man in a privileged position I have to speak up about this. ”
“But because of my ignorance I never realized that exactly the same thing happened in my life. But I never want to take advantage of others who are pushed down again. ”
