The published photos appear to be official press photos. It can be seen that the Edition 45 will probably build on the GTI Clubsport becomes. Skirts, sills and spoilers correspond to the currently most powerful GTI. Newly added are special rims with a red border, Edition 45 decals and black accents on the exterior mirrors, roof and rear spoiler. The tailpipes seem to be one Sports exhaust system which could be supplied by Akrapovic like the Golf R. There are no pictures of the interior yet. There you can expect the usual Edition 45 logos and possibly special seat covers. (The VW Golf 8 GTI Clubsport in the AUTO BILD test)

Drive from the GTI Clubsport

The tailpipes seem perforated on the inside, which is a distinguishing feature of Akrapovic not only at VW.

There shouldn’t be any surprises with the engine and with the 300 HP and 400 Nm torque of the club sport. A small performance correction upwards is not excluded, but at some point it would be dangerous for the R. Seven-speed DSG and front-wheel drive are probably set, as well as the front axle differential lock and the Nürburgring driving mode. Edition 45 should come with more standard equipment ancestors. This could include the head-up display and the adaptive chassis. Market launch for the GTI Edition 45 is probably still in first half of 2021 be. Information on the price is not yet available. The normal club sport starts at 41,265 euros. The Edition 45 should appropriately around 45,000 euros start.
