Monaco will close all roads in the city on Sunday morning, so that the French director Claude Lelouch can record a short film. He records how local hero and Formula 1 driver Charles Leclerc races alone around the famous street circuit in the principality in a Ferrari.
The film will be shot on the day that the Monaco Grand Prix would actually be held in Formula 1. The Formula 1 race, one of the most famous in the world, has been canceled due to the coronavirus outbreak.
Director Lelouch wants to make a kind of remake of his infamous 1976 film ‘C’était un rendez-vous’ in Monaco. It is a dolls’ drive through Paris in the early morning. At the time, the director did not have permission from the authorities.
Leclerc, the 22-year-old Ferrari driver, is happy to race in real life. “I can’t wait,” tweeted the Monegask, who will return to the simulator for the virtual Grand Prix of Monaco later on Sunday.
