which have actually been on the market since 2018. But with a price of currently only 44 euros and a wide range of functions for gamers, the gaming mouse is still very popular, as shown by tens of thousands of positive reviews on relevant sales platforms. We check how the rodent will fare in 2022 compared to the current competition.
TEST CONCLUSION: Logitech G502 Hero
After testing the
Logitech G502 Hero
we can definitely say that the gaming mouse can still hold its own in 2022. Compared to its predecessor, Logitech has brought the G502 Hero up to the current state of the art and, thanks to the new sensor and mechanical main mouse buttons, has improved the performance even further, while retaining the old virtues. These include the ergonomic shape, which is suitable for all grip styles, as well as the switchable mouse wheel and weight adjustment.
However, there are still a few points of criticism: We often misclicked while gaming because Logitech installed so many extra buttons. We also noticed that the material is sometimes quite susceptible to dirt. And for gamers with big hands, the Logitech G502 Hero isn’t exactly ideal. But for 44 euros, that’s still tolerable, because this gaming mouse classic is still worth recommending!
Per:
+ Ergonomic shape for all grip styles
+ precise optical sensor
+ customizable weight
+ switchable mouse wheel
Cons:
– Side panels prone to dirt
– might be a little big for big hands

Logitech G502 Hero: Relaunched crowd pleaser
The Logitech G502 Hero is a new edition, because the 502 without the Hero addition existed a few years earlier. Since the rather slim, angular design was very popular, the manufacturer adopted it almost completely in the new version. An advantage of this shape is the flexibility in the grip style used: Whether it’s a claw, fingertip or palm grip, if you don’t have above-average hands, you can push the rodent as usual. Overall, the G502 Hero also feels quite high-quality, even if the mouse wheel wobbles a bit – albeit a typical “problem” with scroll wheels that allow left and right inclination (tilt).

These can be easily attached to the underside of the mouse using a magnetically attached lid and are even flexible without tools position, for example to weigh down the back a little more. Professionals in particular are happy about this form of fine-tuning.

New to the

is the optical Hero sensor developed by Logitech, which has a significantly higher resolution of up to 25,600 DPI and, thanks to new algorithms, is said to work more precisely and faster. With a maximum speed of 400 IPS (inches per second) and a maximum of 40 G acceleration, the gaming mouse also offers above-average values, which also makes it suitable for professional gaming.

In addition, the button switches for the left and right mouse buttons have been replaced with even more durable mechanical versions and there are now rubber grip surfaces on the outside of the
Logitech G502 Hero.
However, the latter require regular cleaning because they quickly attract dirt. In addition, five instead of three profiles can now be saved on the mouse and the RGB lighting has become a bit more extensive.
Our personal highlight of the

but is the switchable mouse wheel to switch between fast and grid scrolling at the push of a button. The function is particularly useful for long documents or websites. The wheel also offers a tilt function, i.e. it can not only be pressed down, but also tilted to the left or right for additional input options. The disadvantage here, however, is that the mouse wheel wobbles slightly – a problem that almost all models of this type share.
