(to our test). This makes it suitable for everyone who feels restricted by a connection cable. We will find out for you in the test whether this results in disadvantages for gaming.
TEST CONCLUSION: Logitech G502 Lightspeed
In testing the
Logitech G502 Lightspeed
the conclusion was drawn quickly: The wireless version of the popular gaming mouse takes over all the advantages of the wired Logitech G502 Hero. These include robust mechanical mouse switches, the up-to-date, precise sensor, the ergonomic shape and the switchable mouse wheel, as well as the ability to easily adjust the weight of the gaming mouse. Thanks to the wireless connection, the mouse can now be used even faster and more freely. We could not determine any latencies or other connection problems at any time.
On the other hand, the wireless version of the mouse also accepts the criticisms such as the dirt-prone material and the fact that particularly large hands will probably find it difficult to use the G502 Lightspeed. The many keys can also lead to incorrect inputs, especially at first. Nevertheless, we can give a clear buy recommendation for the price of around 80 euros.
Per:
+ Ergonomic shape for all grip styles
+ precise optical sensor
+ fast & stable radio connection
+ switchable mouse wheel
Cons:
– Side panels prone to dirt
– might be a little big for big hands

That’s why both gaming mice are not only the same on the outside, but also on the inside: the ergonomic design is still suitable for all grip styles, as long as your hands are not larger than average. In terms of sensor, number of keys, lighting and other features (such as the switchable mouse wheel), everything remains the same. Here, too, we continue to notice a somewhat wobbly mouse wheel, which you can hear especially when changing direction quickly or when shaking the mouse. But not so wild, because most of the mouse wheels that can be tilted to the side share this unsightly side effect.

If you want more details, then we recommend our review of the Logitech G502 Hero. Only the weight has dropped a bit despite the integrated battery, namely from 121 to 114 grams. However, the weight can be increased by up to 16 grams if necessary, since the manufacturer supplies six small weights.

Stable and fast Lightspeed radio connection
The Logitech G502 Lightspeed relies on the eponymous wireless technology for the system connection, which is based on 2.4 GHz radio and communicates via a USB nano dongle. The latter even stows away in the bottom of the mouse itself, which we always find very useful.

Thanks to Lightspeed, the polling rate is still 1,000 hertz. This corresponds to a response time of one millisecond – which is the usual and absolutely sufficient latency for gaming. In any case, we can’t detect any lags or other connection issues during our tests. All inputs and changes of direction were implemented in real time, there was no difference to wired operation.

Battery allows sufficient running time
The integrated battery
Logitech G502 Lightspeed
enables a runtime of around 40 hours with the RGB lighting switched on, with the LEDs switched off it is significantly more at over 55 hours. This is sufficient, but other wireless gaming mice achieve significantly higher values here. The battery is charged via a sleeved micro-USB cable, and the mouse can continue to be used during this time. In addition, the gaming mouse is also compatible with Powerplay wireless charging technology, which in turn requires the appropriate mouse pad.
