Webber drives Superstar series

In 2021, Mark Webber will compete in the new superstar racing series that US warrior Tony Stewart is killing off. That’s why the Australian is making his comeback.

S.ebastian Vettel’s long-time Red Bull team-mate Mark Webber is making his racing comeback! Five years after his last race for Porsche in the World Sports Car Championship, the Australian will compete in the Superstar Racing Experience in 2021.

The racing series will be re-launched in 2021 – by US racing legend Tony Stewart and his crew chief Roy Evernham. The basic concept: stock cars with really powerful engines, 90-minute races on short tracks, without pit stops, only with absolute racing greats at the wheel. There are still no pictures or details of the cars that Evernham himself is building.

So far, seven drivers have been chosen. In addition to Webber, Stewart will also be taking part. Then there are Tony Kanaan, Paul Tracy and Hélio Castroneves from IndyCar, Bobby Labonte from NASCAR and the first African-American IndyCar driver Willy T. Ribbs.
“Since my resignation, I have received many offers,” said Webber, explaining his comeback. “But this really appeals to me. I can get to know the US racing scene a little better and race against old friends. ”
