Xiaomi introduced a new smartphone this week with the Mi 12S Ultra. The device offers a 6.73-inch AMOLED screen, a resolution of 3,200 x 1,440 pixels and a refresh rate of 120 Hz. Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1 and twelve gigabytes of RAM work in the case. When it comes to internal storage, buyers can choose between 256 and 512 gigabytes.
Camera with 1 inch sensor
The most outstanding feature of the new Mi 12S Ultra is the rear camera. With its round module, it takes up almost half of the housing. The special feature: a 1-inch sensor developed by Leica and Sony is used as the main camera with 50 megapixels. The larger sensor area should ensure more detailed images in low light. The main lens is complemented by an ultra wide-angle camera with 48 megapixels and a telephoto camera with 5x optical zoom and 48 megapixel resolution. Xiaomi has installed a 32-megapixel selfie lens on the front of the smartphone.
Release date for Germany not yet known
Other features of the Mi 12S Ultra include a 4,860 mAh battery, stereo speakers, dual 5G and Bluetooth 5.2. Android 12 with the Xiaomi user interface MIUI 13 is used as the mobile operating system. The Xiaomi 21S Ultra will be launched in China first. There, the version with 256 gigabytes of memory costs the equivalent of 870 euros, while the larger version with 512 gigabytes of memory costs around 1,014 euros. It is not yet known when the Mi 12S Ultra will come to Germany.
