Microsoft will be holding an event next month specifically geared towards Surface devices. Under the name “Microsoft Fall 2022 Event”, the Redmond company wants to talk about new devices. The Microsoft event kicks off on October 12, 2022, just before the start of the Microsoft Ignite conference, The Verge reports.
Microsoft advertises the idea with an invitation and the words “Save the Date”, which was probably written with the Surface Pen. The invitation follows only slightly later than the emerging rumors about a Surface Pro 9 and alleged “Surface Laptop 5” devices. According to the rumors, Microsoft is planning a Surface Pro 9 with the option to equip the device with either Arm or Intel processors, which could potentially mean the end of the “Surface Pro X” series.
Microsoft is reportedly planning Surface gaming laptops
Other rumors suggest that Microsoft will unveil a gaming-focused Surface laptop with 12th Gen Intel processors and Nvidia graphics cards like the RTX 3070 Ti. A “Spec Sheet” also appeared a few days ago, which the colleagues from Wccftech had reported on.
The new devices should also come with optional new colors such as a new green and light blue variants.
The upcoming event will also be the first in-person Surface event Microsoft has held since the pandemic began. It will take place in Seattle.
After the event we will of course also report on the new models at PC-WELT.
