Microsoft now sells Windows 11 Home/Pro licenses directly from its online store. The prices and more information.

Licenses for Windows 11 Home and Windows 11 Pro are now also available directly from the Microsoft online store. Previously, Microsoft did not offer to purchase Windows 11 licenses, instead encouraging users to first purchase a Windows 10 Home/Pro license and then switch to Windows 11 for free via Windows Update. Provided, of course, that the PC used meets the hardware requirements for Windows 11 that have changed compared to the predecessor.

Users can now save themselves this detour. The offer is particularly interesting for PC hobbyists who assemble a computer themselves and need a new Windows license for this. In the Microsoft online store, PC hobbyists can

the license for Windows 11 Home for 149 euros

or purchase the license for Windows 11 Pro for 259 euros and then download the operating system directly. In this article, we explain the differences between Windows 11 Home and Windows 11 Pro.

Microsoft leaves the creation of a Windows 11 installation medium to the buyers, so unlike Windows 10 there is no variant where you get a purchased Windows 10 version on a USB stick, such as here for Windows 10 Home for 149 euros or here Windows 10 Pro for 259 euros.
