Microsoft has presented a whole series of new games with a blog entry that are due to appear for Xbox One and Xbox Series X / S later this year. Mainly smaller and medium-sized indie games can be found on the list. A few blockbusters are still there.
First and foremost, one of Microsoft’s most successful house brands should of course be mentioned: Halo. Actually, the newest title in the series, “Halo Infinite” should have appeared at the launch of the new Xbox Series X console. Now the most extensive part so far comes in the course of the year.
The horror game takes players to an abandoned resort. There you have to switch between the worlds using your supernatural abilities as a medium. Step by step you can learn more about what has happened in the resort.
“The Big Con”
As a teenager Ali, you try to defend his parents’ video business against shady debt collectors. To do this, you forge alliances in a trendy, colorful 90s world, steal the necessary change in mini-games and try to outsmart the gangsters.
“Dead Static Drive”
The adventure is described as “Grand Theft Cthulhu”. It’s a horror survival game that is reminiscent of the first parts of GTA, in which you explore the world from a top-down perspective. Along Route 666 you have to fight monsters and decide which characters to trust in order to survive the adventure.
The 90s are the new 80s: During the summer vacation, a group of children investigate mysterious, supernatural events in their hometown. The 2.5-D sidescroller is a mix of puzzles, jump & run and action passages.
“The Last Stop”
The narrative adventure follows 3 people in today’s London, whose lives are changed by supernatural events. The 3 separately told stories are gradually interwoven.
A mix of vacation and self-discovery: Meredith Weiss drives from the big city to her parents’ old country house to stand in for her father as the postman. As a player you explore country life, make friends and start relationships. Then you have to decide whether to leave city life behind or to return.
“Warhammer 40K: Darktide”
The 4-player co-op game from the Warhammer universe is a classic first-person shooter. You fight your way – sometimes with a sword – against hordes of opponents.
