This is a 102.39 carat specimen, which is particularly profitable because of its great clarity, weight, color and the way the diamond is cut.
The online bidding in Hong Kong could be the most expensive auction ever.
So far, seven flawless white diamonds over 100 carats have been sold at auction. It is the second largest oval diamond of its kind to be sold now.
The pricing at the auction is broad, it is unclear how many parties will compete. Previously, a perfect stone was sold for € 25 million.
The 102-carat stone was cut from a 271-carat rough diamond discovered at Victor Mine in Ontario, Canada in 2018.
The stone belongs to the group of diamonds known as “type IIa”, with the highest degree of measured transparency.
