Monsters Inc. is exactly 20 years old this year. And thanks to a bit of delay due to the corona crisis, a spin-off series of the film will also be released this year. Monsters At Work takes place about six months after the events in Monsters Inc. and voice actor Billy Crystal (Mike Wazowski) has revealed more info about the series for the first time.
Disney and Pixar had no intention of celebrating its twentieth anniversary Monsters Inc. with a spin-off. Nope, Monsters At Work normally should have been released in 2020. So the original movie was 19 years old at the time.

But due to the corona crisis, the production of that spin-off has been seriously delayed. Instead of in 2020, it will only appear on streaming platform Disney + in 2021. Since Disney announced that postponement, things have been quiet about it Monsters At Work. But that has now changed.
None other than voice actor Billy Crystal, who first voiced Mike Wazowski twenty years ago, released the first information about Monsters At Work. He did this during an interview with entertainment website Collider.
Idols Mike and Sully
During that interview, Crystal said that the Monstersseries is set about six months after the events of the original film. The spin-off will mainly be about Tyler Tuskmon (Ben Feldman). He is a young and avid mechanic at Monsters Inc., the factory that converts children’s laughter into energy.
Tyler wants to do everything he can to team up with his great idols, Mike (Crystal) and Sully (John Goodman). So those two again play an important role. “We’ve all created new, young, fantastic characters, who are played by great voice actors,” said Crystal.
“John and I are also reprising our role. I’m telling you, it’s been 20 years since that Monsters Inc.. was released. And the movie looked so good then. The series is released on the 20th anniversary. It looks really great. It’s hilarious, and we’re having a great time making it. ”
