While the diesel has been losing popularity in the passenger car sector for years, it is still the first choice for vans thanks to its high torque and low consumption. But even in this segment, manufacturers are gradually rethinking. So does Ford, who are electrifying the legendary Transit series for the first time and are offering a fully electric alternative with the E-Transit.
As is usual with vans, there are also numerous body variants of the panel van for E-Transit in order to meet the diverse needs of the numerous customers. In terms of drive, however, there are only two versions with either 135 or 198 kW of power. In both cases, the e-machine sends the power exclusively to the rear axle. Both power levels draw their energy from a battery pack with a capacity of up to 77 kWh, the maximum torque of 430 Nm is another similarity. The e-transit should cover a maximum of 317 kilometers with one battery charge. Depending on the version, there are huge differences in price. Almost endless possibilities
On the way to the perfect, all-electric van, you have to make several decisions. With a few extras that are subject to a surcharge, the discount can increase to up to 20,399 euros.
