Moto Razr: New clamshell phone from Lenovo

Lenovo wants to compete with Samsung’s Galaxy Z Flip 4 with the new folding phone Moto Razr 2022.

In addition to Xiaomi, Lenovo also presented a new clamshell smartphone with its smartphone brand Motorola today. While the Xiaomi Mix Fold 2 wants to take on the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 4, Lenovo is more targeting the Galaxy Z Flip 4 with the Moto Razr 2022.

New design and display equipment

After the official reveal date was pushed back from August 1st to August 11th, all the details about the Moto Razr 2022 are now known. The successor to the Moto Razr clamshell phone from 2020 gets a revised design from Lenovo. The distinctive chin and the cut-out in the display are now giving way to an edge-to-edge look. The new model offers a larger 6.7-inch OLED screen with FHD+ resolution. The maximum refresh rate is 144 Hz. While the dimensions of the large inner display are identical to those of the Galaxy Z Flip 4, Lenovo uses a larger model for the outer display. Instead of 1.9 inches like the Z Flip 4, the screen of the Moto Razr 2022 measures an impressive 2.7 inches.

Three cameras and three storage variants

The Snapdragon 8+ Gen1 works in the housing. The clamshell phone is also available in three memory variants. The cheapest model offers eight gigabytes of RAM and 128 gigabytes of storage. There is still a choice of twelve gigabytes of RAM and 256 gigabytes of storage as well as 512 gigabytes of internal storage. The smartphone also offers a 32-megapixel selfie camera, a 50-megapixel main lens and a 13-megapixel ultra-wide-angle camera.

Will the Moto Razr 2022 also come to Germany?

The Moto Razr is currently only available for pre-order in China. The cheapest model there costs the equivalent of 865 euros. When and if the Moto Razr 2022 will also come to Europe is not yet known.
