The free DLC expansion for the new Tom Cruise film “Top Gun: Maverick” for “Microsoft Flight Simulator” will be released at the end of May.

Microsoft this week announced the release date for the free Top Gun expansion for Microsoft Flight Simulator. The DLC pack will therefore be released on May 25, 2022 – two days before the start of the film “Top Gun: Maverick”.

Fighter jets expand flight simulator

The “Top Gun” DLC was originally supposed to be released in November 2021 together with the cinema film. With the postponement of the film’s release, however, the download package for “Microsoft Flight Simulator” was also delayed. The DLC includes the fighter jets from “Top Gun: Maverick”. Rumor has it that the download pack could also bring aircraft carriers into the game.

Tom Cruise in his iconic role

In Top Gun: Maverick, Tom Cruise returns to his iconic role as a jet pilot for the US Navy Top Gun after more than three decades. As a courageous test pilot, he evades a promotion that would land him under house arrest. He is supported by Jennifer Connelly, Val Kilmer, Ed Harris and Jon Hamm, among others. Directed by Joseph Kosinski, who has already made a name for himself with “Tron: Legacy”.
