New Pokémon Snap sells four times better than the original game in the first week

New Pokémon Snap on Nintendo Switch sold four times better in the UK in the first week than it did at the game’s launch on Nintendo64 in 2000. Only Super Mario 3D World + Bowser’s Fury and Monster Hunter Rise did better in 2021.

Not only are the Pokémon cards doing particularly well, the games are also selling like hot cakes. The game fans were looking forward to in 2021 was New Pokémon Snap, a reworked version of Pokémon Snap on Nintendo64. In the game, it is not the intention to fight other Pokémon with a Pokémon. You take pictures of the monsters while you figure out why the creatures have a mysterious glow. You can edit the photos, share them and have them judged by other players and the game itself.

Popular console

Compared to the edition on Nintendo64, New Pokémon Snap out on a console that is doing very well. Then Pokémon Snap came out for Nintendo64, it wasn’t. In 2000, barely 1.5 million consoles had been sold in the UK. Also with Returnal Nintendo has that advantage. Buying a PlayStation5 is still a problem.
