ININ Games and Studio Artdink have a new trailer too Wonder Boy: Asha in Monster World published and presented the boxart of the commercial version. The video shows you what adventure awaits you, Asha and Pepelogoo. You can also see how the two play together to overcome the various hurdles.
In addition to normal versions, which are also very limited in number, there is a Collector’s Edition and a Mega Colletor’s Edition. You can pre-order all versions in the Strictly Limited online store. You can see the content of the latter edition for Nintendo Switch below as an example. All physical versions of the game include the original as a bonus Monster World IV.
Remake of the Sega Mega Drive classic
Wonder Boy: Asha in Monster World won’t be a completely new entry in the series, but a remake of Monster World IV, which was released in 1994 for Sega Mega Drive in Japan. Back then, players could slip into the role of Asha, who is embroiled in an adventure. Invaders have captured the four spirits of the kingdom and are trying to take control of the world.
With the commission from Queen Purapril, it was up to Asha to save the world with her Pepelogoo. This involved solving puzzles, getting through tricky jump passages and eliminating opponents. The game also advertises RPG elements that can be found in the purchasable items that make Asha stronger and therefore ready for stronger opponents.
Old hands on the new shelf
“Asha in Monster World” presents Monster World IV in a completely new 3D graphic design. However, the changes should also go beyond the pure graphics. The gameplay will also be fine-tuned, and new game modes will follow. In addition, it should be the first entry in the series that has a voice output. German localization has already been confirmed.
For the development of the Monster World IV remake, the creator of the series, Ryuichi Nishizawa, returns and brings with him several other members of the original team. These include the composer Shinichi Sakamoto, character designer Maki Oozora and the creative manager Takanori Kurihara.
