Nintendo Switch: PowerA releases Pikachu controllers for Pokémon’s 25th birthday

Nintendo has that Pokémon-Fans yesterday evening the party more or less denied. At least there were no new announcements around the 25th anniversary of the legendary series on Nintendo Direct. Presumably Nintendo has outsourced this to a Pokémon Direct, but who knows. Speculation.

The new PowerA Enhanced Wireless Controller in Pikachu design, which the peripheral manufacturer is releasing especially on the occasion of its 25th birthday, is not speculation, but quite real. Well, at least you can celebrate with the controller. You can pre-order the controller from Amazon now.

In addition to Pikachu, the licensed controller is also adorned with a “025”. Pikachu’s Pokédex number, a good fit for Pokémon’s 25th birthday. There are coincidences.

Pokémon is celebrating its 25th anniversary this year, and The Pokémon Company has already revealed some plans to celebrate. A few weeks ago there was a first trailer with which you traveled through 25 years of Pokémon with you. At the end of the video, a collaboration between Pokémon and pop star Katy Perry is suggested. Then they announced a virtual concert with Post Malone.

That’s all pretty well, but is that what Pokémon fans want the 25th anniversary celebrations of their favorite franchise? After all, New Pokémon Snap will be released on April 30, 2021 – something tangible. And events are planned in existing games.
