Nissan will launch a small electric utility. Designed on the basis of the new Renault Kangoo ZE, it will be assembled in Maubeuge.
A pioneer in the electric utility vehicle with the e-NV200 launched in 2014, Nissan was slow to modernize its range. The Japanese manufacturer will fill the gap with a brand new model, a small utility that will replace the e-NV200 at the end of its career. Aiming at reducing costs with the Renault-Nissan Alliance, it will take over the base for the next Renault Kangoo ZE.
At this time, we ignore the changes made by Nissan. Nevertheless, it will be complicated to do less than the previous NV250 (thermal), placing only a simple Nissan badge on the old Kangoo. Promising “A strong Nissan identity”, he will dispose “Multiple bodies”, and special “Combi” versions.
For the characteristics, we will have to wait for Renault and Nissan to tell us more. However, it is likely that the ZOE’s 52 kWh battery is in the game. The Japanese electric utility should thus exceed 300 km of autonomy.
Another electric utility made in France
Produced in France in Maubeuge like its Renault cousin, the Nissan utility will compete with the PSA trio. It remains to know its price and its launch date, which the brand will communicate soon.
